Student Leadership

Created with Sketch.

At Findon Primary School, student leadership is a valuable opportunity for students to develop their skills in being leaders, organisers and active members of the community. Through the many leadership roles, students have the opportunity to contribute to decision-making within the school and take on a range of roles and responsibilities. This promotes a sense of student voice and engagement within our students across Foundation to Year 6.

The student leadership roles that our school offer are:

  • School Captains – Year 6
  • Student Representative Council Members (SRC) – Year 6
  • Sports Captains – Year 6
  • Wellbeing Ambassadors – Year 6
  • Green Team – Year 5
  • Class Leaders – F-6

Some of the main responsibilities that our student leaders have are:

  • Running our weekly whole school assemblies
  • Organising a range of fundraisers on a termly basis
  • Supporting the organisation of whole school events
  • Mentoring younger students, in the yard and in the classroom
  • Initiating school based projects
  • Acting as a bridge of communication between the student community and our staff/teachers, allowing all students to have a voice
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff and the school principal to bring about positive change and improvements

As a member of the student leadership team, students have an essential role in representing their peers, promoting positive change and fostering a sense of community within the school. Students are given a range of prospects to share their knowledge and ideas through the following:

  • Attendance at offsite leadership conferences
  • Student forums
  • Leadership training on a fortnightly basis
  • Weekly student leadership meetings

A Message from our School Captains

Hello, we are your Findon Primary School, 2024 School Captains, Carter G, Lena F and Hamish W. We are here to tell you a little bit about ourselves and our school.

This year, we have helped to achieve many goals at Findon, and multiple that are currently being pursued, including some of our buildings and grounds being upgraded. Our aim is to make Findon the most safe and educational school for all children.

Our school is continually making improvements to be the best it can be for all students that attend.

Kind Regards
Carter, Lena and Hamish
