Hello from Anita,
Wow!! It is so exciting for me to come to you as your new Principal for Findon Primary.
It is with great enthusiasm and passion, that I accepted this amazing task, and I would firstly like to thank the Findon School Council and community, for allowing me to have this opportunity and believing that I am the right person for it.
Findon Primary is its students, staff, and community and together, we will continue to work to support all the students at Findon Primary to grow, develop and flourish in an engaging and student-centred environment.
My educational philosophy is based on ‘developing the whole child’. This means that we work together to support our students from a Learning and student achievement focus as well as a Health and Wellbeing lens.
The students at Findon Primary are respectful, positive, and have been so encouraging of me. This has helped me to feel right at home and I look forward to continuing to sustain a high level of engagement with them and the community. Developing constructive, positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff and the community is very important to me, so I am working on getting to know everyone slowly.
I have an open-door policy and encourage you to come and introduce yourself at any time. Please feel free to approach me outside in the yard or even make an appointment if there are things that you would like for me to know or even just to say hello.
So that you can start to get to know me, I am happy to share some information about me.
Family and my role as an educational leader are two things that are very important to me and drive my desire for continued school and student improvement. I have always believed that it takes a ‘village’ to raise a child, so becoming part of the Findon family has meant that I can continue to work with a dedicated and passionate team of educators to do this.
I have been in education for a very long time and have worked at many different types and sizes of schools. I have had amazing opportunities to work at large schools with students of up to 1500 and then in smaller schools with up to 160 students. No matter what type of school I have been in, I invest in the students that are there and recognise and appreciate all the different types of cultures, backgrounds and needs of them and their families. I am eager to work with the Findon community to produce the best possible results for all, but most of all, for the students. They are my ‘bottom line’ and at the centre of every decision that we will make.
I have always believed that as parents/carers, there are two important decisions you have to make about your child’s education. This involves making an informed decision about your child’s Primary and Secondary school beginnings. We are here to help and give you as much information as needed.
I encourage all families who have siblings ready to attend our school next year, to enrol as soon as possible. This helps us to plan and manage resources for the new year accordingly.
If you have friends who are interested in our school and would like to visit the school, to see for themselves how the school works, please encourage them to contact our school office and book in for a school tour. This is the best way to make an informed decision about where your child will learn the best.
Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day. Attending and participating in school will help your child develop:
- important skills and knowledge to help them learn
- social and emotional skills such as good communication, resilience and teamwork.
