MELBOURNE MUSEUM

On Wednesday 2nd March, the Year 5 students and Year 6 non-campers visited the Melbourne Museum to learn more about Australian History. We took part in a program called ‘Making a Quid’, in which we viewed photographs and investigated the belongings of people from the past, to work out what sort of work they did. The ‘Melbourne Story’ exhibit took us on a journey back in time, from early contact between white settlers and local indigenous peoples, through to the creation of Melbourne today. We also managed to walk with the dinosaurs, explore the oceans, discover how volcanoes happen and observe the museum’s collection of over 100 amazing bugs and spiders. It was a very busy day and a great learning experience. A special thankyou to our parent helpers who assisted on the day.
